Rohtas. Shri Ramchandra Ji Meat Hotel, located near Ari Advocate Association, Kachari of Sasaram, is not only the oldest but also the most famous meat hotel of this city. This almost 78 year old shop has been managed by Shiv Chaudhary and his family for generations. His grandfather had started this hotel, which was taken forward by his father and now Shiv Chaudhary is running it.
The specialty of the meat served here is its secret recipe, which is prepared without any special spices. This is the reason why people come from far and wide to taste the meat here. Mainly mutton is served in the hotel, but there is special arrangement for fish eaters also.
50 kg mutton is consumed daily
Shri Ramchandra Ji Meet Hotel operates from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm and receives 400-500 customers a day. 40-50 kg of mutton per day is consumed within a few hours. Mutton is available in the hotel for Rs 240 per plate, which includes four pieces of mutton, roti, rice and other ingredients.
People come from far and wide to eat mutton
Rajeev Kumar Soni, a regular customer here, told Local 18 that he has been eating meat here for the last 16-17 years. He told that the quality and taste of the mutton here is incomparable. At the same time, another customer Mithilesh Kumar, who came from 20 kilometers away, says that due to the shop being always crowded, he has to wait a lot. Despite this, whenever he comes to Sasaram, he does not forget to eat the mutton here.
Hotel is a confluence of history and tradition
Shiv Chaudhary tells that there was a time when people not only from Sasaram but from entire Shahabad used to gather here in large numbers to eat mutton. This hotel is not only a symbol of taste but is also a part of the cultural heritage of Sasaram. If you come to Sasaram and do not taste the mutton here, then believe me, you have missed a great experience.
